Add/Remove
Domains
Since a customer can hold more than one domain within the single
account, the added ability to just remove a domain from a package
and replace with a new one is a well sought after feature for customers.
Manage Email Accounts
Customers can add, update and remove email
accounts (POP3 accounts). The number of email accounts available
for a domain is set at the package level. This means if a customer's
package has more than one domain, the number of email accounts are
distributed among all the domains.
Manage Email Forwarding
Customers can add, update and remove
email forwarders. Like email accounts, email forwarders can be
controlled from admin, reseller or customer accounts.
Manage MRAs
MRAs(Multi-Recipient Addresses) allow
a customer to setup an address that will forward to one or more
email addresses.
Manage FTP Accounts
Customers can add, update and remove FTP accounts.
FTP accounts can be set to have specific read and write permissions.
This means a read-only or write-only FTP account can be created
at any time.
Manage ODBC DSNs
Customers can add, update and remove ODBC
DSNs for MS Access, MS Excel, MySQL. Because
all database management is controlled by Helm, adding ODBC DSNs
is very much straightforward. In many cases adding a new DSN is
as simple as typing the name of the DSN and selecting the database
from a list available to the customer.
Manage Sub-Domains
Sub-domains allow users to use full host names to access subfolders
within their accounts, such as forums.mydomain.com. This is a great
alternative when the customer doesn't need email etc for the sub-domain,
but just needs it for a few webpages or files.
Manage Domain Aliases
Domain aliases will allow a customer to have additional domains
that map their website and email for another domain. This is also
a great way of arranging a way for a customer to test out a set
up before a domain is pointing to the servers.
File Manager
Helm provides a file manager that allows a customer to access all
of their disk space. They can browse, create, edit and move folders
and documents for their domain. This even includes a WYSIWYG editor
at no extra cost.
Database Manager
This feature provides a quick overview
of the databases that are installed for a domain. You can upload
Access databases for your domain and MySQL Server databases.
Manage MIME Types
Customers can add, update and remove MIME
types. This allows a customer to add additional services such as
WAP, should this not be provided by default.
Statistics
Keep an eye on web site traffic generated
by the domains set up in your control panel, via at-a-glance charts
which cover 24 hour and 30-day periods.
Manage Your Details
Helm lets you amend your personal details at the click of a button.
Change your email address in one place, and any notifications from
resellers will get sent to it without the need for changing the
address in multiple places.
Custom Error Pages
Helm lets you specify Custom Error pages
for your domains, instead of being directed to the default error
pages (such as “Page
cannot be found”). This lets you integrate your own error
pages that are themed alongside your domain.
FrontPage Extensions
You have the ability
to install FrontPage Extensions on your domain, which allow you
to use FrontPage to publish to your domain.

Reseller Features
Manage
All Users
At
the reseller level you can drill down into any customer's
account right through to their individual domain’s
components, such as email accounts. Resellers are
given access to all of the features and functions
of the customer level. This gives you a lot of flexibility
in the way you manage your customers.
Manage All Domains
As a reseller you can view, edit and
remove domains and domain registrations for your customers.
Further functions that can be performed for a domain.
Customer Plan Management
Resellers can create plans for customers
to purchase within their own control panels. Plans can be created
to cover certain groups of features that you wish to offer,
for example, at different price ranges. Alternatively, the
customer plans can be individually tailored to the individual
customer's needs. This allows you a large amount of flexibility
to make Helm work with your business in the way that you want
it to.
Billing
Helm has an extensive billing system.
Resellers can set up billing for their users and draw sales reports.
They can view outstanding customer invoices, amend the amount
of tax charged to users, create custom invoices to send to users
(and specify delivery settings), and create payment receipts
that get sent automatically once a customer makes a payment.
They can also set up payment gateways for customers to allow
quick and easy payments, and also generate payment reminders
for late-payers. Resellers can also make payments to their Helm
administrator using the payment system.
Personalization
You can include your own custom HTML
headers and footers for your customers. Helm will even allow
you to provide custom links that will appear on the customer's
side bar to go to any location you like such as helpdesks,
forums or contact pages. This means that you can change the look
and feel of Helm to fit more in line with your own website branding,
whilst losing none of Helm’s functionality.
Messaging
Helm has an internal messaging system.
Messaging is a smart way of keeping customers up to date with
the latest information. System information messages can also
sent to the messaging service to inform the administrator or
other users of any problems.
Welcome Message
Helm gives resellers the ability to
set up a welcome message for their users, which will get sent
to them automatically once a user signs up for an account.
This message can be customized to include different account details,
and also allows the reseller to copy themselves in on the mail
for their records. Welcome messages give your users a friendly
introduction to your company, as well as providing necessary
information – all
of which is fully automated.
Signup Script Generator
With Helm, you can generate simple
signup script form code which you can then take, customize, and
use on your own website. This makes it much easier for your users
to signup for an account from a website. You can also point them
to success and failure pages that you can create yourself.
Custom DNS Zones
Helm lets you configure custom global
DNS zone records that will be added to all domains set up under
an account. This means that you don’t have to add DNS
entries in every domain for services that you offer (such as
statistics and access to Helm).
Statistics
Keep an eye on web site traffic generated
by the domains set up in your control panel, via at-a-glance
charts which cover 24 hour and 30-day periods. Helm also supports
the integration of other statistics packages.
Reporting
Helm lets you generate reports for
customer and domain bandwidth usage over specified periods. This
expands on the basic statistics that cover two default time periods.
Extra Feature Notification
You can set Helm to e-mail your users
when they purchase a custom extra feature from one of your hosting
plans. As with Welcome Messages, you can also copy the mail to
yourself for your records.
Who's On
At the click of a button, Helm will
let you see who is currently logged onto your control panel.
It gives details of what section they are viewing in the panel,
the date and time they logged on, how long they have been logged
in, and what their IP address is."
Manage Your Details
Helm lets you amend your personal and
company details at the click of a button. Change your email address
in one place, and all of your Welcome Messages and other notifications
will use it without the need for changing the address in multiple
places.
